Blake Shelton Shows His Soft Side in Wedding Song to Gwen Stefani
Reading Time: 2 minutes
No one likes joking around more than The Voice coach Blake Shelton. But it doesn’t get much more sincere than his newly released wedding song for wife Gwen Stefani, titled “We Can Reach the Stars.”
Is it cheesy? Absolutely. But really, what did you expect from a song written to act as Shelton’s wedding vows? A lot of couples will probably be playing this one at their own weddings. Hopefully no one tries to pass it off as an original.
Blake Shelton Releases Wedding Song ‘We Can Reach the Stars’
“We always said we wish we’d met / Long before we finally did,” Shelton sings to open the track. “But ever since that first kiss / Girl, it’s felt like we were kids.”
In the song’s chorus, Shelton sings, “I know we can reach the stars / You’ve already hung the moon.” Yes, that’s right. Shelton literally says Stefani “hung the moon.” It doesn’t get much mushier than that. He clearly understood the assignment.
The song is backed by subtle strings and piano that add some extra romance to the tune. Even the most cynical of hearts has to admit that the instrumentation sounds really pretty.
Fans seem to agree, as there are plenty of positive comments on the song’s official audio. One user called it “the most romantic song,” while another said they were “literally in tears.” As one fan wrote, “Never knew Blake was this sweet.”

Stefani Reacts to Shelton’s Latest Release
Shelton announced the release of the song on Instagram, saying he’s “really proud” of it and adding, “I’m really honored to be with @gwenstefani. That’s why we got married in the first place. That’s why we wear rings… because we want everyone to know.”
Stefani reshared his post on her own account, writing simply, “yep.. this happened to me.” She told Blake, “i love you,” and added the hashtags #mysong and #thankyouGOD.
The song, which Shelton wrote with the help of his friend Craig Wiseman, is part of the upcoming deluxe version of his album Body Language. It’s one of four new bonus tracks to be released with the album, out December 3. You can pre-save it now.
