YouTuber Nikkie Calls Ellen Degeneres “Cold & Distant” After Appearing On Talk Show
YouTube Nikkie de Jager, also known as NikkieTutorials on YouTube, has been in the spotlight in recent months after coming out as transgender. She inspired many others with her story of cyberbullying and being blackmailed by beauty brands that wanted to reveal her secret. She was then invited to The Ellen Show to discuss her story. She gushed about her excitement for this appearance. However, recently on a talk show in the Netherlands, she revealed that experience was not so pleasant after all.
Sebastian Williams, a YouTuber who is known for exposing other YouTuber’s and celebrities, translated de Jager’s interview where she spoke about The Ellen Show. She expected a warm welcome from Degeneres but revealed the host did not even say “hi” to her before the two talked on stage in front of the audience.
Nikkie de Jager Accused Ellen Degeneres Of Being Cold
In the video that has over a million views, Williams discusses how de Jager exposed Degeneres for not being as nice as she seems. The Ellen Show was initially the only talk show she agreed to come on to talk about her experience as a trans woman. Fans assumed Degeneres and de Jager would form some connection as they are both a part of the LGBTQ community.

After her appearance on The Ellen Show, de Jager noted that there is a huge difference between being on that show and being on the talk show in The Netherlands. She described The Ellen Show as being a different world. She agreed that it was “more cold and distant.” She finished speaking on the matter by saying the experience wasn’t as good as she thought.
Nikkie’s Fans Were Quick To Defend Her On Twitter
The Youtuber whose fanbase has already grown to over 13 million subscribers had several people in her corner to back up her mixed feelings towards Degeneres.
One fan believed that Degeneres was being “cold” to de Jager and rushed the interview. Another fan replied saying that Degeneres is “not nice but likable on tv.”
The comments on Williams’ video also favored support for de Jager. One YouTube comment even mentions that “her tv persona seems very…fabricated” in reference to Degeneres.
Back in January, de Jager expressed her excitement to be on The Ellen Show in a series of tweets. It seemed like a huge moment for her that she was looking forward to tremendously. She had previously turned down other talk shows in The Netherlands and America that wanted to speak with her about coming out.
