The Format of The Four: Battle For Stardom
The Four premiered a new format that excluded on stage auditions and called their singers challengers. The challengers began the competition out by earning their seat. To earn a seat, they had to perform in front of a live audience and panel of judges. After the performance, judges vote “yes” or “no” to decide on the challenger’s fate. If they receive a unanimous four blue rings on stage (indicating “yes”), they advance on to the next round. A red ring signifies a “No,” which ends their time on the series.
Once they make it into the next, challenge, round, singers compete against one another for their seat. After the challenge, the studio audience then votes to decide which should remain in the competition. The winner of the episode locks in his or her seat for the rest of the night and can’t be challenged again until the end of the episode.
After six weeks, the last four singers battle head-to-head to determine who will win the competition. The Four only had two seasons, so their only winners have been Evvie McKinney and James Graham.
The Four was judged by Sean Combs, DJ Khaled, and Meghan Trainor, and host by Fergie. This series has not been on air since 2018, but fans hope it returns back soon.
