‘The X Factor UK’ Is Back With More Great Auditions
The X Factor UK resumed its search for the next big Brit talent on Saturday with a stellar show. There were definitely some…er…interesting things that happened but all in all it was a night of great singers.
First up was young Richard Ryan. He loves his granny, which is just precious. He sang I Believe In A Thing Called Love, which is not an easy song to sing. There are notes in that song only dogs can hear. Though he was nervous he did a good job and was sent through.
This guy is a bit of a cheeseball. With his sleeveless outfit he looked like a knock-off Rodger Daltrey. He started off with The Spencer Davis Group’s Gimme Some Lovin’ and Simon asked him to sing his second song, Iris by The Goo Goo Dolls. Louis wasn’t impressed but the other three sent him through. Presumedly because he might make for good TV.
This dude has a very high opinion of himself, particularly his abs. He comes out and has his shirt half open and then takes it off at the prompting of no one. He can’t sing and in this competition glorious pecs aren’t going to be enough to cut it.
Now this guy can sing and kept his shirt on. He did a great rendition of Breaking Free from High School Musical, which is an interesting choice. He also played guitar which Simon usually doesn’t dig but liked this time and he got four yeses.
Now for something completely different. Choirs are usually reserved for the Got Talents but these guys did an admirable showing with their version of This is Me from The Greatest Showman. They got 4 yeses but, honestly, I don’t know how far they’ll get.
Now we’re talking. She sang Who’s Loving You by The Jackson 5 and brought the house down. Simon and the other judges were blown away and she easily got 4 yeses.
Sephy is from the Philippines and has an OK voice. One thing is for sure and that’t that she loves The Lord. She sang The Prayer and her prayers were answered and she got through.
Ricky’s life has been pretty hard. He was homeless as a young man for 8 years. Luckily, he was able to get his life back on track and has a pretty great voice. He sang A Change is Gonna Come by Al Green, a bold choice. He made it through easily.
Simon did not like this guy at all, not his first nor his second song. I’m not sure why as I thought he was a fine singer. Maybe because he’s a little generic? At any rate the other three thought he was good enough to move forward.
