‘The X Factor UK’ Is Back With More Audition Fun

The thing you can count on The X Factor UK is that they will make it interesting. Not necessarily always great, but interesting. For the most part the singers this week were pretty good, though they did throw in a couple of stinkers to keep it interesting.

Sammi Shepherd

Speaking of stinkers, poor Sammi just isn’t any good. She claims she’s a professional singer. I don’t see how that is possible. She got a resounding no.

Cezar Ouatu

This young man is from Romania and he brought the house down with his high operatic voice and a rendition of Nessun Dorma we won’t soon forget. Simon can’t believe he hasn’t had his big break yet. Well, he has now. 4 yeses.

Louise Setara

Louise gave up a record contract years ago to get married and have kids. Her husband demanded it. She sang an original all about it. She was pretty good and Simon really liked her so she went through.

Claire Angel Bryan

She sang Sam Cooke’s A Change Is Gonna Come, which is a ballsy move. But she delivers and then some. She works full time taking care of her mother and the judges thought she was inspirational. 4 yeses.

Panda Ross

Panda is no stranger to the X Factor stage. In fact, this is her fourth go around. She’s definitely got a decent voice but lacks vocal control. In spite of all that they gave her another shot. Let’s see how far she gets.

Charlotte Lily

Charlotte is a bit of an oddball. She brought her cats to the audition and likes to push them around in a stroller when she sings for money. OK. She sang YMCA by the Village People. OK. I don’t get why she was passed through but she was. OK.

Gaia Cauchi

At only 15 you’d expect a lot of rough edges with Gaia and her rendition of Only Love Can Hurt Like This by Paloma Faith. And yet, it was pretty darn good. She easily went through.

Gingzilla

Imagine full on drag with a giant red beard. But she’s more than just a pretty face. She’s got a pretty staggering voice and her version of Seven Nation Army by The White Stripes impressed the judges. 4 yeses.

J Sol

He lost his mom who was always pushing him to do The X Factor. He sang a song he wrote for her which wasn’t that great, but his voice showed promise so they put him through.
