One of the most dramatic moments in the history of The X Factor UK happened when Ottavio and Bradley auditioned separately in 2016. The friends had a falling out, but the judges helped them reconcile.
When you find out the reason for their feud, you might be just as confused as the judges. But at least this story has a happy ending. Check it out below.
Ottavio And Bradley Audition For ‘The X Factor’
Ottavio and Bradley used to be in a group, but after a falling out, they chose to audition separately. During the audition, the judges said Ottavio might be better in a group. This prompted the singer to share the story of their feud.
“We had a massive argument over chicken,” Ottavio explained. “He cooked me some chicken, and when he gave it to me, he saw pink.” Backstage, Bradley admitted he gave Ottavio “uncooked chicken,” but added that his friend “didn’t even say thanks, though.”
Ottavio teared up talking about Bradley, and Bradley teared up watching Ottavio’s audition backstage. The judges said they wanted to see Bradley on his own before making a decision.
Bradley tearfully shared his side of the story before performing “Ignition” by R. Kelly. Simon said both singers were “okay,” but said neither of them would get through as solo artists. Louis Walsh suggested that Bradley and Ottavio audition together.
Ottavio And Bradley Make Up And Audition Together
Bradley left the audition room and hugged Ottavio. They later returned and auditioned together, apologizing for earlier. They chose to perform “Buttons” by the Pussycat Dolls, which made Nicole Scherzinger very happy.
Simon said he liked them, and was glad that they made up, but added, “You weren’t great individually. I actually think you’re worse together.”
His fellow judges disagreed, choosing to vote Ottavio and Bradley through. They combined forces to create Bratavio, and actually made it to the live shows. After their elimination, Bradley appeared on Big Brother.
In 2019, the singer we knew as Ottavio came out as transgender, changing her name to Miss Octavia Donata Columbro. She said Bradley was an “amazing” support to her in her transition.
