Last night kicked off the semi-finals on season four of World Of Dance and there were definitely a few upsets. Six incredible acts performed but in the end, only two were chosen to go on to the finale. The Upper Division contestants were pitted against the Junior Division contestants in the ultimate showdown that has fans still angry about some decisions that judges Jennifer Lopez, Ne-Yo and Derek Hough made.

The ‘World Of Dance’ Semi-Finals Ended In A Shocking Upset

First things first, the results of the first few performances were…controversial to say the least. The Young Cast who has already battled through the redemption rounds scored a 90.7 on their routine. Some thought this was too high. Savannah Manzel, the nine-year-old full of spunk was one favorite to win the entire competition actually ended up scoring 90.3 which put her at risk of elimination. But Jefferson y Adrianita scored high enough to knock Savannah right out of the competition with their score of 94.3.

This elimination sent Twitter into a fit because Savannah was probably one of the most memorable acts on the show. “Savanna Manzel got ripped off,” wrote one World Of Dance fan on Twitter.

Others felt Savannah’s score should have been higher.

Another wrote that she was “robbed” and that the judges definitely made a mistake eliminating her.

One Standout Contemporary Performer Was Also Shockingly Eliminated

Kurtis Sprung, a contemporary soloist who was another favorite to win the competition performed a sentimental routine about his strained relationship with his father. He scored a 90.3 which tied with Savannah and was not enough to advance on to the finale. A collective sigh could be heard around the world as he received his score. However, Derek did offer him a job, asking him what his schedule was like this summer. Although the coronavirus pandemic definitely altered this plan of Derek hiring Kurtis, we definitely hope that the pair do end up working together in the future. If Kurtis was worthy of a job offer from Derek, he was absolutely worthy of moving on to the finale because people really did believe he would go on to win the show.

One fan expressed her anger saying “Can we just talk about how amazing Kurtis Sprung is and they definitely didn’t give him enough credit on this show and it really pisses me off! Literally the best dancer on this season.”

Others were just genuinely upset by the results.

Never in my life have I seen an “unknown” as gifted, theatric & brilliant a dancer as #KurtisSprung – can’t believe @NBCWorldofDance cut him

Geometrie Variable ended the show with a performance that received a score of 94 which will take them into the finale.
