The Winner Of ‘The Voice UK’ Is…Ruti Olajugbagbe!
I hate to toot my own horn, but I totally called this. I said the top two were going to be Ruti Olajugbagbe and Donel Mangena. That much was clear from the start of this season of The Voice UK that it was going to come down to these two. Rarely do you see that but it’s the truth. But it was Ruti who took home the prize and it’s well deserved.
The show kicked off with the coaches singing The Beatles’ Come Together. I have to say that Tom Jones has still got it. Then we got into the final performances by the artists.
Donel did Let Me Love You and killed it. Annihilated it. They had to take it out back and bury it that song was so dead.
Then Belle Voci performed O Fortuna. While I’m sure that they will go on to fill opera houses everywhere, I seriously doubted all along they would win a competition like The Voice.
Then Ruti hit the stage with If You’re Not The One and, well, she gave a winning performance. It was flawless. Look for a flaw. I dare you. You won’t find one.
Lauren Bannon was up next and I have to say that even though she has a lovely voice, she never stood a chance against Ruti and Donel. No way.
Then Belle Voci and Jennifer Hudson did the Celine Dion classic My Heart Will go On. You talk about vocal talent. Made the hairs on the back of my neck stand up.
Lauren Bannon and Olly Murs then sang Ain’t No Mountain High Enough and it was nice. Very nice.
Donel and Will.i.Am did OMG and it was quite an amazing performance. I thought for sure Donel had it in the bag.
That is until I saw Ruti and Tom singing What A Wonderful World. C’mon.
Then, when it was down to Donel and Ruti in the final, Donel came swinging back with Cold Water. This was going to be a tough finale.
But Ruti sealed the deal with Dreams. It was pretty much all over and she won.
So, that’s all she wrote folks for this season of The Voice UK. They had some phenomenal vocal talent this season.
