Will ‘Game Of Talents’ be Renewed for a Second Season?

The FOX show Game of Talents has been on the air for several weeks now, and we’re starting to wonder if it will be renewed for a second season. Ratings and reviews give a pretty clear indication.

The show, hosted by Wayne Brady, combines a talent show with a game show as teams of two try to guess the talents of various performers before they take the stage.

Is ‘Game Of Talents’ Getting Good Ratings?

The ratings for Game of Talents peaked during its season premiere, with just over 3 million viewers. Since then, numbers have fluctuated, but they’re consistently between 2 million and 3 million.

Compare this to its Wednesday night lead-in The Masked Singer, which premiered with over 5 million viewers and hasn’t dipped below 4.7 million viewers so far this season.

Both shows are bested by NBC’s The Voice, which premiered this season to nearly 8 million viewers, and hasn’t dropped below 5.8 million. American Idol is also doing better, with 5 to 7 million viewers on Sundays, and slightly lower numbers on Mondays.

So Game of Talents isn’t doing great in the ratings, compared to both its fellow FOX talent show, and the talent shows on other networks. This may not bode well for the show’s future.

What Do Viewers Think of the Show?

Unfortunately, the show doesn’t appear to be much of a hit with viewers. It has an average rating of 4.5 stars out of 10 on IMDb, with some pretty negative reviews to back it up.

Some viewers have a problem with the show’s format, which allows teams who have guessed incorrectly on some talents to win the show if they guess correctly on the $60,000 talent. Many say they liked Wayne Brady as a host, but didn’t like the show as a whole.

“The premise is not entertaining and the gameplay is borderline annoying,” wrote one user. “Remove the contestant game overlay and just let Wayne find new, amazing talent to show off and give the acts that money based on each show alone then maybe a finale show.”

We can’t say we’re optimistic about the show’s future at this point. If it does end up getting canceled, maybe Brady can take his hilarious personality to another show with a more viewer-friendly format.
