Why Katty Perry Won’t Invite Luke Bryan and Lionel Richie To Her Wedding

We’ve been tapping our feet waiting for Katy Perry’s wedding to Orlando Bloom, and the singer has finally given some updates about it. Katy appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live! this week with her fellow American Idol judges Luke Bryan and Lionel Richie.
Katy spilled some details about wedding planning, calling herself a “bridechilla” and explaining why Luke and Lionel won’t be invited to the wedding.

Katy confirmed that she is “still engaged” after a year. When Jimmy asked if her fellow judges will be invited to the wedding, Katy said, “I can’t afford them!” And in case you thought she was joking, Jimmy later asked if Luke and Lionel could be expected to perform, and she repeated, “Like I said, I can’t afford them.”

“Look, they have a lot of work to do while I’m out getting married. Again,” Katy said. “It’s gonna be a small wedding!” She later added that they’re “on a B list.”
But lest you think Katy is a bridezilla, think again. She calls herself a “bridechilla,” although she admits to booking the wedding venue five days after she got engaged last year. “I took it very seriously,” she said.
Which Judge Is Best At Breaking Bad News?
Jimmy Kimmel shared a clip from this season of American Idol in which a contestant sings a questionable song about sardines. He asked which judge is best at breaking bad news to contestants who aren’t going to Hollywood.

Luke and Katy immediately gestured to Lionel. “He’s like the undertaker,” Katy joked. Luke said some contestants even look “excited” that they were rejected because they got a “pep talk” from Lionel.
Lionel pointed out that some of the auditioners are already “broken” (some might be homeless or not have families), so he aims to give them “hope that there is a dream out there for them.” Jimmy pointed out that he would be great on The Bachelor, to let the women know they’re leaving.
Maybe we’ll see some of Lionel’s pep talks when American Idol returns this Sunday at 8/7c on ABC.
