Whitney Leavitt’s ‘DWTS’ Opportunity Sparks MomTok Fallout on ‘Secret Lives of Mormon Wives’ Season 3

Week after week Whitney Leavitt has been the top of the leaderboard on Dancing With The Stars. Ahead of the reality competition show, fans were familiar with Leavitt from the Hulu series, The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives, now with the new season of the reality show released, Leavitt’s place in MomTok has officially been revealed.

Whitney Leavitt Leaves MomTok After Renegotiations Went South
Within the first few minutes of The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives Season three, cast members revealed that Leavitt left their social media group. Apparently, her re-negotiation requests include “tickets to the Oscars and a scripted role in another TV show.”
“Clearly she’s not here so she didn’t get it,” Mikayla Matthews said.

This comes as a surprise since week after week Dancing With The Stars fans have noticed MomTok members in the audience. That being said, her costar Jennifer Affleck also competed on the season, so many assumed the MomTok troupe was there for both members.
The Star Gets Honest About Her Intentions
Even though Leavitt was voted back into MomTok at the end of The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives Season two, she openly hasn’t been very involved with the group since that season. Apparently, her family even moved to a different Utah town to put her family further from the drama.
During a sit down with friends outside of the reality cast, Leavitt admitted she had no intentions of returning for season three. Instead, she candidly admitted that she was told she could audition for Dancing With The Stars if she came back to film.

“After last season, I did decide to step away from the show, but I never quit MomTok. I was always in MomTok, still a part of that group,” she said in a confessioanl. “I just really needed a break, but then I heard from my team Dancing with the Stars was going to cast someone from The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives, and that’s a motivator. I’ll come back for that.”
Jennifer Affleck Has Hard Feelings About Leavitt Taking DWTS Opportunity
In a later confessional, Leavitt admitted that she misses “the sisterhood.” Yet, since Season one, Leavitt has been the villain of the group, often disagreeing with other members of the group. It seems not much has changed, since even her castmate Jen Affleck admitted Leavitt is feeding off the opportunity.
“This is exactly why I didn’t want to come back, but there’s this amazing opportunity, Dancing With the Stars, and it’s something that I want. So I’m going to go after it, and there’s no shame,” Leavitt said.
This was clearly a point of conflict with fellow Dancing With The Stars castmate Jennifer Affleck, since she was extremely vocal about how Leavitt’s behavior was not okay.

“It’s frustrating for me because since the day I met her, I told her I wanted to go on Dancing With the Stars, like that is literally one of my dreams,” Affleck said. “The minute she sees there’s an opportunity, she’s like, ‘Oh wait, I’ve always wanted it.'”
