This Week in Talent Show Television
This week is pretty big for all of our favorite shows. A lot of them have raised their stakes as time has gone on, but now the competition is seriously getting tight. Tonight, there are nine remaining couples competing for the mirrorball on Dancing With the Stars. With nine couples remaining, the show has decided to include relays, which give dancers the opportunity to earn more points for their final score.
At the same time, The Voice will be concluding the knockout round of the competition. After tonight’s episode the network will air a special, “Road to the Live Shows” on Tuesday night. Next week begins the live playoffs for the series.
On Wednesday, FOX’s shows Alter Ego and The Masked Singer return to the primetime lineup this wednesday. If you love either of these shows you probably noticed that they weren’t on FOX last week because of The World Series. Instead, The Masked Singer premiered Monday night and Alter Ego went on a short hiatus. We should expect to see more performances with another unmasking on The Masked Singer, as well as head-to-head battles on Alter Ego.
Clash of the Cover Bands will also premiere on Wednesday. The newest episode of this tribute band competition will feature Jennifer Lopez and Britney Spears impersonators. Out of all of these series, Clash of the Cover Bands is the furthest away from the end of the season. They began airing in mid-October when our other favorite shows began at the end of September, there have only been three episodes aired.
