Canada’s Got Talent Begins in March
I am extremely excited to see this new branch of the Got Talent franchise. Canada’s Got Talent was originally on Citytv in 2012, but never came back to the network. Sagkeeng’s Finest is the first and only winner in the history of Canada’s Got Talent. To this day, they are known as a Manitoba-based dance trope. From their social media, it seems like they may be on a break from performing given the ongoing pandemic. This dance trope left Canada’s Got Talent with a $100,000 cash prize, a Nissan GT-R, an performance at Citytv’s New Year’s Eve Bash, the possibility to perform in Las Vegas, and a trip to Trinidad and Tobago.
In 2020, there was an online spin-off series dedicated to family talent on Citytv. Simon Cowell announced Canadian Family’s Got Talent during an interview. This competition ran between April 27 to May 26. Cowell was a judge on this series, while both Dina Pugliese and Devo Brown were hosts. Toronto-based singing trio, CZN, won this series.
