When Is ‘Dancing With the Stars’ Returning? Who’s Competing?

Dancing with the Stars recently shared a new promo advertising the upcoming start of Season 29. It has us wondering what we can expect this season, and what we know about the competition so far.
The complete cast for the new season hasn’t been revealed yet, and we also don’t know an exact premiere date. But the show has shared a few details that give us a better picture of what’s to come.
‘Dancing With The Stars’ Season 29 Coming Soon
The new promo for Season 29, shared on the Dancing with the Stars Twitter account, confirms that the ABC reality show will air on Monday nights, but didn’t give any more details about a premiere date other than saying it will return “soon.”
According to Deadline, the show is aiming to start production some time in September. However, because of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, this might change, and sources are unsure if the show will be able to air live.

The promo also introduces viewers to the show’s new host, Tyra Banks. The former America’s Got Talent emcee is replacing former hosts Tom Bergeron and Erin Andrews, who were reportedly fired from the show in July.
In the video, Tyra appears via video chat, saying, “You never know what happens on live TV, but you need to get ready. It is gonna be so next level.” Other than this, the promo only contains footage from past episodes of the show.
Who’s Competing On ‘DWTS’ This Season?
So far, only one celebrity cast member has been confirmed for Dancing with the Stars Season 29. Former Bachelorette star Kaitlyn Bristowe was invited on the show by Chris Harrison in June. She was so excited to accept the offer, she started crying.

As for the rest of the cast, we’ll have to wait and see. However, Variety reported in December that the show was eyeing Charlie Sheen, who previously turned down a position on the show. Producers were also thinking about inviting Christie Brinkley back after she had to leave last season due to an injury.
According to ET, pro dancers Lindsay Arnold and Witney Carson will sit this season out, as they’re both pregnant. And as for the judges? Carrie Ann Inaba recently shared that she, Bruno Tonioli, and Len Goodman are expected to return. “I just want everybody to know Len, Bruno and I — that is the plan that we’re coming back,” she said on The Talk.
