AGT

This year, Gabrielle Union and Julianne Hough joined existing judges Simon Cowell and Howie Mandel at the table. There was plenty of funny banter, especially between Julianne and Simon. Unfortunately, Gabrielle and Julianne have since departed the show amidst a lot of controversy.

American Idol

Katy Perry, Lionel Richie, and Luke Bryan returned this year for another season on ABC’s version of this iconic singing competition. Katy was her usual wacky self, flirting with plenty of male contestants. Although they were supportive of many auditioners, they didn’t hold back when judging the less-than-talented competitors.

BGT

Simon Cowell is notorious for changing up his judging panels, but this one has stayed the same for a while now. Simon and Amanda Holden have judged the show since the start. Alesha Dixon and David Walliams joined the show in 2012, and have been there ever since.

The World’s Best

This new show sought to find the best talent in the world, with Drew Barrymore, RuPaul, and Faith Hill leading the judging panel. They were backed up by a wall of 50 more judges from around the world.

The Voice

After longtime coach Adam Levine announced his departure from the show, former coach Gwen Stefani was brought in as his replacement. She and boyfriend Blake Shelton had plenty of cute moments. And who could forget the fake-feud between Blake and Kelly Clarkson?

The Masked Singer

This quirky show had two seasons this year, with the same judges for both. Robin Thicke, Jenny McCarthy, Ken Jeong, and Nicole Scherzinger did their best to guess who was behind the masks each week. They weren’t always accurate, but you have to admire them for trying.

Dancing With The Stars

The celebrity dancing competition returned this year with its original judging panel — Bruno Tonioli, Carrie Ann Inaba, and Len Goodman. As anyone familiar with the show knows, they don’t hold back on their opinions. Sean Spicer certainly made it farther than you might have expected based on their critiques.

X Factor: Celebrity

Simon Cowell, Louis Walsh, and Nicole Scherzinger have all judged X Factor before, and they returned for this year’s celebrity edition. Nicole is pretty much the hardest-working woman in talent shows, considering how many shows she’s judged. (She also appeared on X Factor: The Band and Australia’s Got Talent.)

Bring the Funny

NBC’s comedy competition show brought on some very funny people to judge the talent. SNL star Kenan Thompson, comedian Jeff Foxworthy, and social media superstar Chrissy Teigen were on hand to give their opinions and joke around.
