I seriously cannot wait for this show to air on FOX. It’s so unique in its use of CGI and video-game like characters. Along with the cool premise, the show has a one of a kind celebrity judging panel as well. It features some old and new names in music. Singer-songwriter Alanis Morissette, pop star Grimes, 98 Degrees singer Nick Lachey, and Black Eyed Peas rapper Will.i.am. The show will be hosted by Rocsi Diaz.
The show will have a two-night premiere behind The Masked Singer on September 22 and 23 at 9/8c.
A First Look at Alter Ego
On September 1, FOX shared their first look video on YouTube. The video gave fans more insight on exactly how this futuristic talent competition works. We know that contestants will be behind the stage in CGI suits while their animation is on stage. The animations follow all of their moves and their voice transmits from backstage. These Alter Egos are created to look like the people behind the cartoon, with a few twists. Although some of these characters look realistic, they are colorful, have unique hair, and tons of individually.
There are also live background dancers and a live audience in this show. It seems like these performances will feel pretty organic, which is extremely cool. This show is not trying to copy The Masked Singer, but instead live beside it with a very different show format.
