What Is KINRGY? Julianne Hough Explains Her NEW Body Positivity Project
AGT judge Julianne Hough has been keeping busy with a new project called KINRGY. She announced it last week, at the same time she debuted a nude photo shoot in Women’s Health.
You might be wondering what KINRGY is and what inspired Julianne to start the project. Read on for more information, and video of Julianne talking about it.
What Is KINRGY?
Women’s Health describes KINRGY as Julianne’s new “dance method” and “workout method.” The name is meant to combine the word “kin” (referring to family or short for “kinesthetic”) with “energy.” The magazine reports that it will start later this year, with plans to open a studio in Los Angeles and organize global events.
Julianne was auditioning trainers for the project when she was interviewed, telling people, “We’re creating an environment that’s inclusive and where everyone is accepted.” It’s reportedly a 45-minute dance method which isn’t about getting the choreography down, but rather about “moving in a way that’s nurturing to each individual.”
What Does KINRGY Mean To Julianne?
Julianne said in an Instagram Story that she wanted the movement’s name to reflect the “collective.” As she explained in a video last week, “The whole point is that we want you to join in and have your own transformational journey of growth and opportunity and excitement.”
According to Julianne, that transformation can happen “physically, mentally, or spiritually.” In the past, she has credited her positive attitude to moving her body every day, calling dance her “superpower” and saying movement allows you to “connect to your emotions.”
