TV Host Wendy Williams has been open about her past struggles with substance abuse but lately, her slurring words on-air and recent mispronouncing of celebrity names have fans concerned for her. Although she seemingly cleared the air today, her staff too had a lot to say as well.
Today Wendy Addressed the issue at hand, saying, “I always say I love you for watching ’cause I really, really do. I come here every day and I try to do the best that I can for you,” she said during her show on Monday. “I appreciate you watching, but even after all of these years, it’s still work. An effort put in for the hour I’m out here, you know? I guess every day is not perfect, but I’m not a perfectionist. I’m not perfect.”
This might just have passed as a reasonable explanation, except her staff is finally speaking up.
Wendy’s Staff Concerned About Her ‘Self-Medicating’ And The Show’s Future
Sources close to ‘The Wendy Williams Show’ exclusively told lovebscott.com that they believe Wendy is self-medicating (again) with “prescription pills, some kind of opioid.”
The production staff is at a loss for what to do,” the source says.
“Because of COVID, the staff sits in the audience every show, and they’re constantly worried she’s going to pass out on the air like before. Some days it’s so bad, the producers will pull the plug and air a repeat,” the source continues. “But It’s a big production and they can’t keep wasting money like that.”
It is also said that Wendy’s show went into early hiatus because of her slipping sobriety and being on air right now has people close to her worried.
“It’s really the top brass at the studio Deb Mercury who need to step in and put their foot down, make her go to rehab and get the help she clearly needs. It was hoped that she would pull it together over the long summer hiatus, which they started early because Wendy was having issues then.”
Back in 2017, Wendy infamously passed out mid-show during the Halloween episode and that has fans even more concerned for history repeating itself.
One Twitter user wrote, “Has anyone been watching Wendy Williams this season? She’s in dire need of help. She needs rehabilitation badly! The fact that producers are allowing her to work during these conditions is baffling. She’s an addict, even Stevie Wonder and Ray Charles could see it.”
