Are you a true fan of The Voice? Being a superfan is way more than knowing who won which season. It’s knowing every aspect of the show, including the rules. If you’ve truly been watching the show for a while, this quiz will be a breeze.

Do you think you know everything about The Voice? Answer these eight questions about the format, rules, and regulations of the show to see if you rightfully deserve the title of The Voice super fan.

The Voice has been around on NBC since 2011 and has seen a slew of judges in its history. No matter what, Blake Shelton has sat on the coaching panel since the beginning of the series. Fans of the series have seen over a dozen different celebrities sitting aside Shelton. Some of the most notable celebrities have been Miley Cyrus, Alicia Keys, Pharrell Williams, Jennifer Hudson, and more.

How Do The Voice Rounds Really Work?

This series began because it’s ideals differed from any other show on air. The coaches chairs realistically take the factor of looks out of the competition. Each artist is judged solely on their voice during this portion of the competition. Once their song is over, they have the tough job of determining which celebrity they want to be coached by.

From there, artists are paired with one other person to battle head to head against. Within the battle rounds the two artists are mentored by their coach and celebrity mentor. Mentoring sessions include both artists learning to harmonize/perform the song their coach chose for them. On the stage, the two artists battle it out for a spot in the next round of the competition.

The next round, Knockouts, is a similar format except artists choose their own songs that differ from their partner. During the Knockout rounds, artists meet with the seasons’ Mega Mentor as well as their coach. Mega Mentors are typically people who are huge names in music that can teach them even more.

Once Knockout rounds have concluded, the live playoffs begin. This is the first part of the competition that is broadcast to the public completely live. At this point America gets to vote on who will continue in the competition. The bottom artists of the episode get to perform once again and America chooses which artists continues.

As weeks dwindle down, so do the artists. By the finale there are typically five artists left in the competition. The show typically ends with coach duets featuring the seasons top acts. The winner of the series gets a trophy, a $100,000 cash prize and a record deal with Universal Music Group.
