Weird, Smart, and Funny Quotes from ‘The Four’ Judges
The Four: Battle for Stardom finally began last week. As we predicted, the giant personalities of Diddy, DJ Khaled, and Fergie provided us with some memorable quotes. Charlie Walk added some tough wisdom from the music industry and Meghan Trainor put English words together that technically formed sentences.
Here’s the wit and wisdom of The Four judges from just two hours of crazy TV:
“Every episode is a finale.” – Fergie, in one sentence explaining who The Four makes no sense.
“I want greatness now! America, send me the greatness! If you ever get on the stage in front of me, you gotta bring it!” – Diddy, demanding, uh, greatness.
“I’m ready to make a legend.” – DJ Khaled on his goal for the show.
“Y’all are both great.” – DJ Khaled, apparently offering competing singers Elanese and Zhavia “legendary” status.
“No karaoke singers. This isn’t that show.” – Diddy, laying down the law.
“I find you to be interesting for other shows but that’s not what we’re doing here. We’re setting the tone to put the biggest stars of the world out there.” – Charlie, showing his dissatifaction with Illakriss.
“Do you feel like eating? What kind of meal are you ready for?”
“He’s looking like a cakewalk.”
“Eat! Eat! Eat!” – Diddy and Lex Lu getting (stomach-) pumped for Lex’s challenge against Illakriss.
“I love your originality. I love your sweatshirt.” – Meghan, displaying her keen judgment.
“I’m in the history business.” – Diddy, trying to make history.
“If you’re gonna sing someone’s song, you gotta put your own style into it, and you didn’t do it.” – DJ Khaled to contestant Valentina.
“I didn’t like it one bit.” – Diddy to Valentina.
“I’m just not the biggest fan of that kind of sound. It almost sounds like you’re putting on a [fake] voice.” – Meghan to Valentina.
“You’re breaking her heart into a million pieces.” – Fergie, defending Valentina.
“What’s going on right now? This is called talent.” – DJ Khaled, again not taking sides in a challenge.
“Once you get on your knees, you have to cry! If you’re pleading with a woman…I’m on my knees, and my face is dry, do I stand a chance?”
“No.” – Diddy and Fergie, expressing disappointment in Blair kneeling too soon or crying too late or something.
“I’m looking for something fresh, something new, something I can feel in my soul. Something I obsess about when I’m on the treadmill.” – Diddy, declaring his criteria for greatness.
