Keisha’s Journey On ‘The Voice’
Keisha Renee competed on Season 13 of The Voice in 2017, on Team Blake Shelton. According to her show bio, Keisha was born in Los Angeles and grew up singing in church. She loves gospel music, so it’s no wonder she totally slayed in the above performance.
However, Keisha moved to Houston after high school and became interested in country music. She was hesitant to pursue the genre, having been told she was “better suited for pop or R&B.”
Before trying out for The Voice, Keisha performed as a background singer for Nicki Minaj. She now describes herself as a “Country Soul Singer/Songwriter” on her Instagram page. Earlier this year, she put out an EP called The Road Less Traveled, which you can hear on Spotify.
