WATCH The Rudest Waitress Ever ROASTING The Family For Being Cheap And Stingy
A viral video has recently resurfaced of a waitress being mean to her customers at a Chicago restaurant. The clip first made the rounds in 2015, racking up millions of views online.
While it may seem at first like the waitress in the video is about to get some bad tips, it turns out that the restaurant she works in actually encourages their servers to be rude to guests.
Mean Waitress Roasts Family At Restaurant
The viral video was recently reposted by meme account @unluckybetch on Instagram. In the clip, a waitress named “Cherry” takes a family’s order and has a rude comeback for everything they say.
When one of the customers orders off of the kids’ menu, Cherry tells her, “You’re like 35, the kids’ menu is 8 and under.” Later, when she can’t hear what someone is saying, she shouts “WHAT?” at them.
At one point, Cherry even points out that she’s required to give bad service. “If I was nice to you, I’d get canned,” she says. “You want good service, you go somewhere else. I know Hooters is probably more your speed.”
The Waitress Talks About Her Job At Ed Debevic’s
After the video went viral, “Cherry” (whose real name is Kryssie) went on local Chicago news to talk about the experience, and explain her job at Ed Debevic’s. She said she has “pent-up rage” from working retail and waiting tables for 11 years, and this job allows her to let it out.
Ed Debevic’s, founded in 1984, has a retro diner theme, and the servers are expected to give the customers attitude. The restaurant sadly closed in 2015, but a new location is planning to open this year (with the grand re-opening delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic).
Kryssie said the family in the video was “a total party,” and they were even “cool” about a mistake with their order. She said since the video went viral, she had requests from people to “berate their children.” She’s even been asked so sign autographs.
