You’ll want to keep the lights on when watching the trailer for The Sacred Riana’s new movie. That’s right, the scariest act from Season 13 of America’s Got Talent has inspired a movie — and it looks just as creepy as you would expect.

The film is called The Sacred Riana: Beginning, and was directed by Indonesian filmmaker Billy Christian. The project was announced last year, and a teaser trailer was released a few days ago. Riana herself, who won Asia’s Got Talent for her magic-meets-horror routine in 2017, shared it on Instagram.

A longer trailer was also released this week, which has us even more intrigued. There’s a creepy doll, a decapitated body, and plenty of jump scares, as we see Riana both at a young age and when she’s grown up with her signature hair over one eye.

It sounds like the process of making the film might have been just as eerie as the act itself. “The experience of directing Riana is a very interesting experience,” director Billy Christian wrote on YouTube. “She rarely talk but she listened and understand what I’m saying. It was a bit awkward at first, but later we’re doing it as a great team.”

This quote could all be part of the illusion … or not. Riana, whose full name is Marie Antoinette Riana Graharani, works hard to keep up her stage persona behind the scenes. She doesn’t say much, even in interviews. It would be impressive if she managed to keep it up on a movie set as well. Talk about staying in character!

The film will be released on March 14 in Indonesia. Hopefully, it will extend to theaters around the world so that Riana’s many fans can see her origin story. She may not have made it past the quarterfinals of AGT, but her star is still on the rise.
