WATCH Soulful Singer Cause Kelly Clarkson To Have The Fit Of Her Life After Blake Shelton Blocks Her

Blake Shelton Blocked Kelly Clarkson During Katie Kadan’s ‘Voice’ Audition
Katie grew up in Chicago performing in church from the age of 10 on. During her audition, Katie said there was a lot of fear for her to perform as a “chubby chick living in a skinny girl’s world.” Performing at open mics allowed her to gain confidence and propel her to finally audition for The Voice.
She sang about two notes of the song before the judges were completely blown away by her soulful voice. John Legend was the first to turn his chair and Blake followed soon after. He also used his block on Kelly in the process. Kelly turned her chair and marveled over the performance before realizing she was blocked. She let out a few loud screams as Katie continued on with her performance.

Kelly got out of her chair and stomped her feet along with throwing her jacket to the ground. This was one of the many times we have seen Kelly angry on the show about something Blake said or did. Kelly went onto the stage to hug Katie and Katie revealed that Kelly was actually her first pick as a coach.
John told Katie that she has “rock n’ roll energy” and a “fire” in her voice. He said she was “perfect for the show.” Ultimately, Katie ended up choosing Team John as Kelly looked on still disappointed she couldn’t snag Katie for her team. She continued to dominate the competition every week and even made it to the finale where earned third place.
Where Is She Now?
After appearing on The Voice, Katy went on to play at venues all over Chicago but she had her sights set on going on tour. “I want a tour so bad…I’ve never toured before as an artist,” she said. “I’ve been to a couple of different cities, but I never went on a tour. I’m dying to. I want to live on a bus like the Partridge family and sing anywhere I can. That’s my dream.” The coronavirus pandemic has kept her from doing so but she continues to post covers and originals online from home.
She has also continued to be an inspiration to so many people and spread a message of body positivity. “If my story helps a couple of people, then I’ve done my job because it’s scary,” she said in an interview with Parade. “It’s scary to be vulnerable. It’s scary to put yourself out there, to talk about your insecurities, and to work through that whole process. Then, to have people reach out and say, ‘I feel braver because I watched your story,’ and it makes me want to step out.”
