A contestant on Italia’s Got Talent in 2017 delivered an interesting performance when she combined the classical music of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart with the modern art of twerking.
Federica “la Pondi” Spaccatrosi certainly surprised the judges with her unique act, with one of them even hitting the red buzzer. Did she make it through to the next round? Read on to find out.
Federica started her audition wearing a white wig and a blazer, which she removed when she sat down at the piano. Her back was facing the judges, who looked confused about what Federica was about to do.
The 27-year-old didn’t actually play the piano. Instead, she started twerking in time with the music. Judge Nina Zilli buzzed the act, while Frank Matano stood up and clapped.
Federica eventually stood up from the piano and delivered some even more intense twerking moves, sparking applause from the audience. When she was done, she closed the piano and took a bow.
Nina Zilli, who buzzed the act, voted no to sending Federica through to the next round. However, her fellow judges were impressed with the performance. Federica earned three “yes” votes to move on.
Federica later said in an interview that the audition “went better than I could have expected,” adding that she earned more followers on social media and views on her videos after the TV appearance.
