WATCH Heidi Klum’s Time-Lapse ‘2020 Sucks’ Painting And We Can All Relate

America’s Got Talent judge Heidi Klum is turning to art to get her through the COVID-19 pandemic. She’s been painting with her family, and recently shared a time lapse of their collaborative piece of art.
The theme of the art will be relatable for pretty much everyone who agrees that, as Heidi puts it, “2020 sucks.” Check out Heidi and her family’s process video below.
Heidi Klum Creates ‘2020 Sucks’ Painting
Heidi, her kids, her husband Tom Kaulitz, and his twin brother Bill worked together to create the oil painting on a large canvas. Heidi appears to have started things off with an otherworldly black and green background.
Her family members then pitched in to paint a spaceship, palm trees, and more. There looks to be an alien witnessing what’s happening on earth and saying, “DAMN.” And there’s even the message “2020 SUCKS.” We have to agree.

During a recent appearance on The Kelly Clarkson Show, Heidi shared the painting and said her family is continually adding more onto it. Simon Cowell, who was appearing via video chat, joked that the painting was upside down. (It wasn’t.)
Kelly said she and her kids have been painting together as well, but their artwork looks “real different.” She added that Heidi’s painting looks like “it could be hanging in an art gallery.”
Heidi’s COVID-19 Experience
Heidi Klum has been absent for much of the current season of AGT, as she fell ill during production and self-isolated while waiting for COVID-19 test results. Heidi ended up testing negative for the virus.

The model has continued to take precautions, as she told Kelly Clarkson. Someone in her family has an autoimmune disease, so she wants to be extra careful. “I haven’t really seen anybody, gone anywhere, done anything,” she said.
She has, however, filmed Judge Cuts for Season 15. The judges recently came together to film a socially distant episode. It’s set to air July 28.
