Sisters Taryn Coccia and Payton Taylor Audition On American Idol

Payton was playing the guitar to accompany her younger sister, Taryn Coccia in the American Idol audition. Taryn sang the track Masterpiece by Jessie J while her sister gave her the beats on the guitar. The next thing we notice is that Katy Perry is secretly whispering on Lionel Richie’s ears about something.
Guess what happened next? Payton Taylor gets a chance to audition for American Idol too. She was soon singing her own song, a cover of John Prine’s “Angel in Montgomery.” It was an immediate “yes” from Luke Bryan, Lionel Richie and Katy Perry for Taylor. She is the first one among the two to get the ticket to Hollywood with three yeses.
However, Taryn gets a ‘No’ from Katy Perry but still qualifies to the next round with the two yeses from the other two judges.
After a long, emotional audition that had the potential to drive a stake between their bond, Coccia and Taylor shared on their respective social media pages that they’d made a decision that’s best for their individual careers. They would not be competing against each other, they returned their “golden tickets” and left the show. Well some of us might think its insane to give away a chance of a lifetime but we do respect their choices.
Payton did return the next year in Season 17 in a group called “Victorious Secret” alongside Kason Lester, Wade Cota and Grayson Little singing “California Dreamin'” by The Mamas and the Papas.
