WATCH Father-Daughter Singing Duo Taking The Internet By Storm

After her choir practice was canceled because of coronavirus, Utah teen Savanna Shaw took to YouTube to showcase her voice. But she does not make videos alone, she is joined by her equally talented father Mat Shaw. The two now post regularly on Youtube as the father-daughter singing duo Savanna and Mat. Take a look at their amazing rendition of “I See The Light” from Disney’s Tangled.
The Father-Daughter Duo Want To Give People Hope Amid Pandemic
In an interview with FOX 13 in Salt Lake City, Savanna said: “I want to be able to give people hope and I want to be able to let them know that things are really hard right now but I really do think they’re going to be okay.” And they seem to be doing just that.
One comment on their cover of “I See The Light” says “During all of this crazy, your music and spirit has brought me a little bit of light that I really needed.” Another comment on the same video says, “With everything that is going on in the world at this moment we all need hope and we need to see light and you two are it.”

Savanna Thanked Her Supporters For Following Her Journey
Savanna only recently started a social media profile to keep in touch with her friends during the coronavirus pandemic. She never expected her videos singing with her father to blow up. She first posted a cover of “The Prayer” on Facebook that got nearly 4 million views. The momentum grew and they began to post covers on Youtube and Instagram.
Savanna recently took to Instagram to express her gratitude to her supporters. “I’m so grateful that the music I have shared here has touched so many during these difficult times,” she said in her caption. She went on to add “Many of you have personally shared your stories with me and it’s been humbling and inspiring.”
Their video singing “The Prayer” was also shared on YouTube and now has over 3.4 million views. That number will surely continue to grow as people continue to share their videos and become fans. One YouTube comment even suggested that the pair should try out for America’s Got Talent because they would have a real shot at winning.
Savanna And Mat Have An Unconventional Recording Style
During a quarantine, singers like Savanna and Mat certainly have to get crafty with their time at home. They record their duets in a closet in their house. They plug a microphone into an iPad and lean it against a stack of old pajama pants. But this process seems to work well for them. In the FOX 13 interview, Mat is seen filming Savanna as she sings in the closet. He playfully refers to it as the “quarantine recording studio.”
Mat is thankful to spend this time with his daughter doing the thing that they love the most. “To see a father and daughter singing together, sharing time together and sharing our talents, I think resonates with people who maybe aren’t able to spend as much time as they’d like with their parents or with their children,” he said.
