Watch Eric Cowell Sing To His Injured Dad, Simon Cowell, On His 61st Birthday

Fans recently got a peek at how Simon Cowell is recovering from his electric bike accident earlier this year. In a new video from his ex-girlfriend Terri Seymour, Simon can be seen celebrating his 61st birthday.
Simon has been recovering from surgery after breaking his back in multiple places and having a metal rod put in. He missed the live shows for both America’s Got Talent and Britain’s Got Talent due to his injury.

According to the Daily Mail, Simon’s ex-girlfriend Terri Seymour threw a birthday party for the music mogul on Sunday, and shared a clip of the festivities on her Instagram stories.

In the video, Simon’s son Eric can be seen singing “Happy Birthday” to his dad, along with Terri’s daughter Coco, as a cake is brought out. Simon is seated at a table outside, and seems in good spirits as he laughs at the kids’ funny dance.
Simon can then be seen taking the candles out of the cake to blow them out, perhaps to avoid bending over. Lauren Silverman, Simon’s girlfriend, apparently referred to Simon’s vegan diet when she said, “The second cake you’re not allowed to eat but at least the kids can have it.”
How Is Simon Recovering From His Accident?
There have been some conflicting reports about how Simon is doing after his surgery. Recently, a source said it could take as long as six months for him to recover, adding that he had “a setback from surgery to fuse two vertebrae.”

However, another source responded to these reports by saying Simon was actually recovering more quickly than expected. They added that he’s doing 10,000 steps a day and swimming to strengthen his back. They also shared that he no longer has to wear a back brace all the time.
Another source recently told Us Weekly that Simon has been “up and walking” since his second day at home after surgery. They added, “It’s become an ongoing joke that Lauren has to run to keep up with him.”
