WATCH Cardi B Fire Back At Mommy Shamers Who Criticize Her Parenting Style
Cardi B has something to say to the people who want to shame her for the choices she makes as a mom. She also has some thoughts on what it’s been like for her daughter Kulture to enter the “terrible twos.”
The rapper spoke to RADIO.COM for their Fandemic series, and touched on her experience being a mom. Read on to find out what she had to say to her mommy shamers.
What Cardi B Has To Say To Mommy Shamers
Cardi said that since becoming a mom, she’s “way more understanding of situations that other mothers go through.” When other moms tell her that they’re tired or having “a messed up moment,” she says she understands how they feel.
She added that now it’s her instinct to put her daughter before herself “all the time, automatically.” Whereas she might be lazy about getting up to make herself something to eat, she doesn’t hesitate when it’s time to feed her daughter.
Cardi said it’s “so annoying” when people online question things about her parenting, like why her daughter still uses a binky or a bottle. “I’m like, damn, she just turned two. Like, this is hard,” she said. “Everybody’s different. If your kid stopped sucking on a binky when they were one week and a half old, good for you.”
The mom has even been criticized for her long nails, with people claiming she can’t properly hold her daughter without scratching her. She’s also been shamed for choosing to dress in revealing outfits now that she’s a mother.
Cardi’s Daughter Kulture Has Entered The ‘Terrible Twos’
Cardi’s daughter Kulture turned two years old last month, and the rapper says the “terrible twos” kick in “so fast.” Kulture has apparently been having tantrums, but she’s also showing off her personality.
Cardi says her daughter is “such a sweet and funny person,” and sometimes she gives her looks that make her think, “You are up to no good.” She added that Kulture has had tantrums over little things like not being allowed to eat ice cream.
She joked that she’s “dealing with a me,” or a maybe “a Hennessy,” referring to her younger sister Hennessy Carolina. And Kulture certainly has her mother and aunt’s sense of style. Cardi recently gave her daughter a $9,000 Birkin bag for her birthday.
