WATCH ‘America’s Got Talent’ Break Social Distancing Rules On Live TV During Brett Loudermilk’s Act

Tuesday night’s episode of America’s Got Talent was definitely anything but ordinary. It was finally time for the first round of live shows with 11 incredible acts including the hilarious sword swallower Brett Loudermilk. But, he raised eyebrows during his performance when he called Heidi Klum and Sofia Vergara up to the stage to assist him during the age of social distancing.
‘America’s Got Talent’ Judges Heidi Klum And Sofia Vergara Joined An Act On Stage
During the coronavirus pandemic, social distancing rules have been encouraged, especially on live television shows. America’s Got Talent made sure to seat the judges six feet apart. Host Terry Crews also stood six feet apart from the acts that ended up joining him live on stage to hear the judge’s feedback. But, during Brett Loudermilk’s act, that seemingly went out the window. Brett first made waves during his audition when he used Sofia to assist him in his act, asking her to pull swords out of his mouth. They had a hilarious banter and it was one of the most iconic moments of the season so far. For this act, Brett was joined on stage by Heidi whom he asked to sign her autograph onto one of his playing cards. While Heidi and Brett were separated by a table, they were handing off the cards to one another.

Sofia was then called up to the stage to help Brett find Heidi’s card in a unique way. The pair stood side by side as Brett explained to Sofia how to shoot a crossbow. Brett wanted Sofia to shoot the crossbow at the deck of cards he placed in his mouth. It wouldn’t be America’s Got Talent without Sofia and Heidi yelling about the danger factor of the act. Again, the pair had hilarious banter and she asked a ton of questions as he trusted her again with his life. She fired a shot while asking “he’s dead?” Thankfully, Brett is still in fact, alive. He proceeded to begin coughing while walking back over to Sofia’s direction. “Six feet,” he said as he essentially coughed in her face. She ran passed him to the other side of the stage where Heidi was patiently waiting.
Did ‘AGT’ Ignore Social Distancing During This Act?
Brett proceeded to shove an arrow into his throat to retrieve a playing card. It happened to be the card that Heidi put her autograph on at the beginning of the act. “No no no no, I’m not touching that,” Heidi said as he pointed the card in her direction. “You don’t have to touch it. COVID, I get it” Brett said. Howie Mandel gave the act a standing ovation. It was ironic because Howie is a known germaphobe was applauding an act that just pulled a card covered in their own saliva out of his mouth. So, was this act adhering to the social distancing rules that America’s Got Talent has been dedicated to following?

There were definitely a few instances during this act where Sofia and Brett crossed paths and got pretty close. Were they six feet apart the entire time? Definitely not. Going into the America’s Got Talent live shows, we assumed that judges would not take part in joining acts on stage just to take extra precautions. But, these acts and judges have been in quarantine before coming to the live shows. Heidi and Sofia probably both said they were comfortable in joining acts on stage while someone like Howie is happy maintaining a social distance.
