Kodi Lee has just what we need to get through the coronavirus pandemic — musical parodies! The Season 14 AGT winner recently shared an Instagram video in which he reworks a Beatles classic to be more relevant to our current times.
Kodi, who is blind and has autism, blew the judges and AGT viewers away with his beautiful voice and amazing piano skills last year. America voted him all the way to the top spot.
Kodi Lee Sings A Coronavirus Parody Song
In his latest parody song, Kodi reimagines the Beatles hit “I Want to Hold Your Hand” to a song about the importance of washing your hands to stop the spread of coronavirus. Holding hands might not be a great idea these days, but washing them sure is.
“Oh yeah, I touched that somethin’ / I think you’ll understand,” Kodi sings to start the song as he plays the keyboard. “Now I need a scrubbin’ / I gotta wash my hands.” You can probably guess how the rest of the chorus goes.
In the post’s caption, Kodi shared a positive message with his followers: “Keep your head up! We’re in this together! Stay healthy! Stay safe!!!”
Listen To Kodi’s ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’ Parody
The hand-washing song isn’t the first parody Kodi has shared during the pandemic. He also performed a coronavirus-themed parody of Queen’s “Bohemian Rhapsody,” with lyrics written by comedian Dana Jay Bein.
“Is this a fever? Is this just allergies?” Kodi sings at the start of the song. “Caught in a lockdown, no escape from the family.” A lot of followers can probably relate. Dana Jay Bein himself even commented with fire emojis, saying he’s a “big fan” of Kodi.
Kodi said in the caption that Dana’s lyrics made him laugh so much while he sang that it took him days to record the video. Have a laugh yourself by checking it out.
