Steven posted a photo of the finished product on social media Wednesday. It’s an incredible likeness, especially considering it’s only made from squares of primary colors. Steven said it took him 20 hours, and he even posted a sped-up process video to show how he did it.
Steven posted that he was planning to take the portrait to the STAPLES Center in Los Angeles on Friday or Saturday, as that’s where Kobe’s LA Lakers play. He later shared his intention to auction the portrait off for charity.
Steven said he would donate the earnings from the auction to Kobe Bryant’s foundation. Kobe and his wife Vanessa started the Kobe & Vanessa Bryant Family Foundation to give scholarships and inspire young athletes. Former teammate Shaquille O’Neal has also pledged to donate.
Who Is ‘AGT’ Magician Steven Brundage?
Steven Brundage competed on Season 11 of America’s Got Talent. At his audition, he told the judges that he’s the “only person in the world” who does Rubik’s cube magic.
He wowed the audience when he put an unsolved Rubik’s cube in a bag and pulled it out completely solved. He also matched the pattern on a Rubik’s cube that Simon Cowell mixed up.
Steven was eliminated in the Judge Cuts, but he came back as a wildcard in the quarterfinals, and was eliminated again in the semifinals. He has a YouTube channel where he posts tricks and Rubik’s cube art. (Check out his Baby Yoda!)
