In 2014, Erza Muqoli auditioned for La France A Un Incroyable Talent, which is also known as France’s Got Talent. She was only eight years old at the time and performed a stunning emotional song. While she impressed three judges, the fourth was not such a big fan of hers. But, she was definitely able to prove him wrong. Check out her audition below.

Erza Moqoli Proved the Judges Wrong On ‘France’s Got Talent’

Erza looked like an absolute rockstar when she stepped onto the stage wearing a red leather jacket and a grey fedora. For her audition, she sang Stromae’s “Papaoutai” and played the piano. During the performance, judge Gilbert Rozon gave her his red buzzer. He voted “no” but the other three judges voted “yes” which sent her into the next round.

One person explained the sentiment of the song in a YouTube comment. “To everyone in the comments who can’t speak French and is confused about the song– it is about missing fathers. The original singer, Stromae, had his father die, and he wasn’t’ told about it until five years later” they wrote. “Despite it being written by someone whose father had died, it’s message caters to anyone without a father, whether the dad died, left, or is just emotionally distant. It talks about how no one teaches people how to be parents, and how the cycle may repeat, as the kids learn from their parents to be distant as well.” She went on to sing Zaz’s “Éblouie par la nuit” in the semifinals. She received a standing ovation from the audience.

Erza was voted all the way to the finals where she sang Édith Piaf’s “La Vie en rose.” She ultimately ended up finishing the competition in third place.

Where Is She Now?

Erza has continued on to pursue a career in music after appearing on France’s Got Talent. She is actually one of the founding members of Kids United, a singing group that was created to support UNICEF campaigns. The group’s first single called “On écrit sur les murs,” actually reached number three on the French singles charts. You can listen to it below.

The group put out three studio albums that have all topped the French music charts. The group disbanded in 2018, and it was time for Erza to start her solo career.

She released her self titled debut solo album in 2019. A concert movie was also released where Erza performed songs from the album.

Erza also has a whopping 355,000 Instagram followers that enjoy listening to her original songs and covers.

She planned on embarking on a tour in 2020 but it has since been postponed due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.
