NBC Remember 5-year-old, Sophie Fatu from America’s Got Talent back in 2018? In case you’ve forgotten, here’s a reminder of her time on the competition and what she went on to do after her journey on the show.
Sophie Fatu’s journey on America’s Got Talent
5-year-old Sophie Fatu took all our hearts when she auditioned for America’s Got Talent in 2018. The young star sang Frank Sinatra’s ‘My Way’ at the Pasadena Civic Auditorium, blowing both the judges and the theatre audience away.
“You are hilarious, I want you to date my son,” Cowell joked during Fatu’s first performance. “You are adorable Sophie, well done.”

Fatu later appeared on Judge Cuts, surprising the judges with yet another Sinatra classic, ‘New York, New York’. Whilst the 5-year old contestant did win over the audience, Fatu sadly didn’t make the quarterfinals. But, before letting Fatu go, Simon gave one last shot at coupling up his son and the AGT star. Eric was too shy to step on stage and looked visibly embarrassed due to his father’s antics!
What happened to Sophie Fatu after her time on the show?
Before we discuss what Fatu did after America’s Got Talent, it’s important to touch on her incredible public presence before even featuring on the hit talent show. Sophie had already featured on The Ellen Show and Little Big Shots before arriving on AGT.
Now, she regularly uploads to her YouTube channel which has over 333k subscribers. Famous Birthdays currently puts her as the 14th most popular 7-year-old in the world.

She even released her own EP titled ‘Love is…’ Tracks on the album include covers of songs by Sinatra, Frankie Lymon, and Nina Simone.
Fame seems to run through Fatu’s family, which may have contributed to her overall success on television. Her mother, Victoria Fatu is a renowned concert pianist and singer, working with the likes of Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky.
