VOTE: Your Favorite ‘AGT’ Golden Buzzer Act Of 2019?
NBC We’re several weeks into AGT 2019, and that means we’ve already seen quite a few Golden Buzzer acts. Judges Gabrielle Union, Howie Mandel, and Simon Cowell, as well as host Terry Crews, have all hit the buzzer this season.
But which Golden Buzzer act is your favorite so far? We’ve seen a singer, a rapper, a violinist, a youth choir, and one very entertaining dancer who pushed the buzzer for himself. Gabrielle Union’s Golden Buzzer – Kodi Lee
This 22-year-old singer went viral after the show’s season premiere. Kodi is blind and has autism. He also happens to have a beautiful voice and a talent for playing the piano. His performance of “A Song For You” by Donny Hathaway brought viewers to tears and inspired judge Gabrielle Union to hit the Golden Buzzer and send him straight to the live shows.
Howie Mandel’s Golden Buzzer – Joseph Allen
This 21-year-old rapper and singer said he wanted to leave a “footprint” on the world. He performed an uplifting original song in which he declared “the world’s gonna know my name.” The crowd went wild for him, and judge Howie Mandel loved it as well. He left his own “footprint” on the Golden Buzzer by stepping on it.
Simon Cowell’s Golden Buzzer – Tyler Butler Figueroa
This 11-year-old violinist spoke about battling cancer and being bullied at school. He gave an energetic performance to Kelly Clarkson’s “Stronger (What Doesn’t Kill You)” on the violin, bringing the audience to its feet. Judge Simon Cowell called Tyler “an extraordinary young man” and sent a message to the bullies by hitting the Golden Buzzer for him.
Terry Crews’ Golden Buzzer – Detroit Youth Choir
This talented group of kids from Detroit performed “Can’t Hold Us” by Macklemore & Ryan Lewis for their audition. The lively performance including rapping and dancing. Host Terry Crews interrupted the judges and tearfully shared what the performance meant to him. He hit the Golden Buzzer to send them to the live shows.
Ben Trigger’s FAKE Golden Buzzer – Ben Trigger
This dancer from Australia gave an outrageous performance that involved stripping down to almost nothing. It shocked and entertained the judges and audience. Ben finished the performance by leaning back on the Golden Buzzer, hitting it for himself. Although it didn’t count as an official Golden Buzzer, the judges all voted “yes” to send him through to the next round.
