Brynn Cartelli, Maddie Poppe, And Zhavia Are Doing Well On iTunes
One of the hallmarks of The Voice is that they have the artists sing an original song in the finale. Brynn Cartelli’s song Walk My Way was #1 on the iTunes charts a couple of days ago and is still holding on at #2. But she isn’t the only talent competition show star to score a hit. American Idol‘s Maddie Poppe and The Four‘s Zhavia are right there behind her.
Maddie’s song Going Going Gone is currently #4. It’s a great song, in fact both songs are terrific. It goes to show that Maddie and Brynn, young as they are, are talented songwriters as well as singers. Walk My Way was written alongside Julia Michaels who is one of the best pop songwriters out there right now. But if we look at the charts more we also see The Four’s Zhavia at #8 with Welcome to the Party and Britton Buchanan at #17 with his song Where You Come From.
I’ll be honest, I have some friends in the entertainment industry who have poked fun at what I cover here at Talent Recap. There is an old prejudice against many of the people on these shows. Either that none of them find any success or that they are not “legitimate” artists because they became famous via reality TV. That’s nonsense. A great artist is great no matter how they got there. The important thing is that they produce quality content.
