Everything You Need to Know About ‘The Voice UK’ 2019: From Start Date to the Coaches
The premiere of The Voice UK is quickly approaching. And now that The X Factor has continued declining in ratings, the gates are open for The Voice UK to take over! With the start date, coaches, and presenter all announced, we’re ready for the new season.
Here’s all the information you need to know about The Voice UK 2019:
When Does The Voice UK‘s 2019 Premiere?
The Voice UK premieres on Saturday, January 5th at 8pm on ITV. This year, it will be up against BBC’s new talent show, The Greatest Dancer. ITV hopes to win this head-to-head matchup, though it has been losing its battle with Strictly Come Dancing against The X Factor.
Who are the Coaches?
For the first time since the second series, all four coaches from the last series are returning! So we will see will.i.am, Jennifer Hudson, Sir Tom Jones, and Olly Murs in the big red chairs in 2019. Last season was Olly Murs’ debut and he placed second. Will he be able to take home the win this year, against seasoned pros will.i.am, JHud, and Tom Jones? He will be the only coach without a win going into 2019. That means he’s definitely got something to prove!
Here’s what Olly had to say about coming back to the show:
“Now I’ve got one season under my belt, I can’t wait to see what my second season has in store for me. Last year I managed to get seduced and picked some entertaining performers. The other coaches might think they have worked me out but I’m coming back with a bang, just you wait!”
Who is the Presenter?
Emma Willis will be returning as The Voice UK‘s presenter. She has had the gig since series 3 of the show and has hosted solo for the last two years.
But Emma has a special connection with this coaching panel. She explained:
“We nailed it with the panel. You’ve got to get that chemistry. I love Will’s unpredictability, I want Jennifer to be my best mate, Olly is like my little brother and Tom melts my heart. I enjoy being around people who work on the show. It feels comfortable for me and like a home.”
There was a big twist added to the Blind Auditions this season, which started taping in October. For the first time ever, artists can now audition as trios! Of the new addition, coach will.i.am said this:
“The UK always surprises me with some of the freshest artists and this keeps me coming back for more. By adding trios, we’re raising the bar, so bring it on UK!”
Don’t miss the premiere of The Voice UK this Saturday at 8pm on ITV!
