‘The Voice’ Adds Another New Feature With The ‘Save’ Button
We told you about some of the changes that are afoot at The Voice as far as how the game is played. The coaches will have a ‘block’ button on their chair during the blind auditions round with which they can block one of the coaches from getting an artist for their team. They have also added a ‘save’ button for the knockout rounds.
During the knockout rounds two people from a team go head-to-head and the coach has to pick one. With the ‘save’ button they can pick someone they just eliminated but only if one of the other coaches doesn’t steal them first. They only get a limited number of saves. Executive producer Audrey Morrison explained how this changes the game,
“We haven’t ever really had a defensive move or an offensive-defensive move, so we came up with the block. It really sort of speaks to the real competition.”
The truth is there wasn’t much to the game part of The Voice before. Other than the initial blind audition where the artists could pick who they wanted to work with and the steal in the knockout round, there wasn’t much to the actual gameplay. These additions are going to make the game much more interesting.
