Violinist Gabriella Laberge Slays Coldplay’s Song ‘The Scientist’ But With Her Own Special Twist [VIDEO]

Gabriella Laberge showed something new and exciting during her 2016 audition for The Voice France. She took on one of Coldplay’s biggest alternative rock songs, “The Scientist” but added a bit of a twist when she played the violin. Check out her unforgettable season five audition below.
Gabriella Laberge Showed Off Her Violin Skills On ‘The Voice France’
Gabriella’s audition started with the elegant sounds of her violin and the coaches were already hooked. Once they heard her angelic and soft voice they knew immediately that they had to turn their chairs. Florent Pagny, Zazie, Mika and Garou all turned their chairs which took Gabriella by surprise. Ultimately, she ended up choosing to be on Team Mika after this four-chair turn.

During the Battle Rounds, she went head to head against Ilowna Basselier singing “Castle in the Snow” by The Avener. It was not an easy decision for Coach Mika to choose which artist to keep around. Gabriella ended up winning the battle and gaining a huge fn base after doing so.
She also took on another alternative hip hop song when she performed “Stressed Out” by 21 Pilots during the Live Shows. She put her own spin on the parts of the song featuring raps which was something new and exciting that she brought to the show.
Gabriella was eliminated in the Quarterfinals after performing “Aussi libre que moi” by Calogero. But, since appearing on the show, her audition has gone completely viral. It now has over 63 million views and loads of positive comments. “She has a lot of career options…Singer, violinist, model” wrote one fan in the comments. Others praised her vocals and stunning looks.
Where Is Gabriella Now?
After appearing on The Voice France, some of Gabriella’s songs actually appeared on the French show Lance et Compte along with another television series called Mohawk Girls. She also went on to perform at the Montreal International Jazz Festival.
In 2018, Gabriella released her second album called “Tu es flou” and signed with Polydor France, a label under Universal Music Group. The following year, she competed in Destination Eurovision which allows France to select artists to represent the country at the singing competition Eurovision. She sang her original song called “Never Get Enough.”
Gabriella also posts some incredible original songs and covers on YouTube playing all of her own instruments. She currently has 295,000 subscribers and that number is surely on the rise as she continues to put her own spin on everything she does.
Recently, she celebrated that her cover of the song “Zombie” was featured on the most recent season of World of Dance. She was particularly excited about the fact that judge Jennifer Lopez heard her song in an Instagram post.
