Tyler Butler-Figueroa Gets Surprised by Ellen DeGeneres On Birthday
Violinist Tyler Butler-Figueroa may not have won AGT Season 14, but he got a pretty amazing birthday present from Ellen DeGeneres this week. Tyler celebrated turning 12 by appearing on the comedian’s talk show, where he spoke about his experience and performed on his violin.
“I wanted the biggest birthday party ever,” Tyler said. “And to me, this is the biggest birthday party ever.” Ellen joked that she had bought him gifts but would send them back, “if this is enough for you.” Obviously she didn’t do that.
Ellen’s Gift For Tyler Butler-Figueroa
“I got you a gift for your birthday, because I know that you wanted two violins, but I got you three,” Ellen told Tyler. “And I got you some beautiful violins.”
A stagehand wheeled out the interesting-looking violins as the audience cheered and Tyler thanked the host. But that wasn’t Ellen’s only gift for Tyler. She also announced a donation of $10,000 from Shutterfly. He may not have won the million, but that’s not too shabby.
Tyler Butler-Figueroa Performs On ‘The Ellen Show’
Tyler took the stage to perform Swedish House Mafia’s “Don’t You Worry Child” on the violin. He previously performed the song during the AGT quarterfinals. The crowd cheered and clapped along to his energetic performance.
During his interview with Ellen, Tyler said he feels like the Incredible Hulk when he performs. “I’m a regular person now, and just like the Hulk, he’s shy and he really doesn’t talk,” Tyler explained. “But then when it’s action time, we turn into a different person, and I just love to perform.”
Tyler, who has faced bullying in the past, said the bullies at school now “want to be my friend” after his appearance on AGT. Ellen made sure to remind him that they should have treated him nicely “all along.”
