Twitter In Flames After French Montana Says He Can Beat Kendrick Lamar In A Rap Battle
GettyImages Rappers Tory Lanez and French Montana recently went hit for hit on Instagram Live in an epic rap battle. During an interview with Complex, rapper French Montana was asked about which artist he thinks he could go up against in another rap battle. Right away, he confidently said that he would want to go up against Kendrick Lamar because he has more hits and could outshine him. Twitter was not too happy about that. Check out the clip below that sent Kendrick fans into a frenzy.
“You could put somebody like Kendrick Lamar next to me on the same stage in a festival—I might outshine him,” French said. “Not because I’m a better rapper or whatever it is. I just got more hits. Kendrick Lamar got albums. He got masterpieces, but if you was to put us on a festival stage, I would outshine him, cause I got more hits than Kendrick Lamar.”
Twitter Users Were Quick To Throw Shade At French Montana
Kendrick’s fans were out and full force after French’s comments. They really did not appreciate French saying that he has more hits than Kendrick. One Twitter user commented “The audacity of French Montana” to say that he has more hits than Kendrick when no one even listens to French Montana songs for French Montana, all of his songs are carried by his features.”
Other Kendrick fans were also very confused about French’s statements and shared some hilarious memes.
Another Kendrick fan wrote “Is French Montana delusional thinking he can go toe to toe with Kendrick Lamar? His Macaroni and Cheese mixtapes don’t count as hits.”
One Twitter user finished his tweet by saying “lmao whew 2020 is really taking a toll on some of you people.”

French Confidently Defended His Comments
After the interview, French probably wondered why his name was trending on Twitter. He would soon find out that people found his comments to be cocky and a bit of a dig at Kendrick. He quickly tweeted the following message saying “If we just talking about anthems, me vs. Kendrick hit for hit! I believe I can go neck to neck!! I been making hits for a long time! It ain’t my fault I believe in myself. How was I supposed to answer that question? How many times I gotta prove myself before I get mine.” He was clearly very offended that people do not think he could go toe-to-toe with Kendrick.
He also put out another tweet saying that he loves Kendrick but was just answering the question honestly. He is confident in himself and his abilities and thinks he can beat anyone in a battle.
He replied to a fan that did not understand his logic. He said Kendrick “is a different artist.”
One fan said, “French does have more hits I agree but he can’t sell half as many tickets as Kendrick.” French replied and said that was the point he was trying to make during the interview.
Young Thug Got In On The Drama
Yet another rapper to be involved in this drama is Young Thug. He laughed about French saying that he has more hits than Kendrick and posted the following video.
This sparked an even bigger debate on Twitter between Young Thug and French Montana. Again, most fans seemed to side with Young Thug instead of French.
Twitter fans also believe Young Thug also has more hits than French Montana and better songs.
This seems like a beef that will go on for a while. Maybe they all will settle it by doing a live rap battle for fans.
