Twitch Viewer Is Suing The Platform For $25M After Sexy Streamers Caused Him To Injure His…
Erik Estavillo, a self-proclaimed sex addict used Twitch as a way to blow off some steam. Estavillo suffers from OCD, depression, Crohn’s Disease and panic disorder among other things. He used Twitch as a source of entertainment during the coronavirus pandemic after being stuck in the house. But, for him, watching Twitch streams may have done more harm than good after he became addicted to seeing some sexy streamers.
Twitch is a live-streaming platform for gamers with over 15 million daily active users from all over the world.
Erik Estavillo Was Injured While Watching A Provocative Twitch Stream
According to the lawsuit that Estavillo filed, he alleges that Twitch had a plethora of , “overly suggestive and sexual content from various female streamers.” It went on to say that “Twitch has extremely exacerbated his condition by displaying many sexually suggestive women streamers through Twitch’s twisted programming net code.” Basically, he says that he could not log on to Twitch without being shown sexually provocative content. According to the Daily Mail, Estavillo was pleasuring himself during a Twitch stream and actually ended up getting injured. He suffered from an infection and redness after he got down and dirty with some NSFW toys while watching a female Twitch users stream. He also mentioned that staring at his screen for prolonged periods of time caused his eyes to be irritated and another incident watching streams caused him to…you know, onto his keyboard which led to a fire and blackout in his apartment.
This lawsuit is definitely a bit eery considering that Estavillo has previously sued Microsoft, Sony, Nintendo and Blizzard. These are all huge gaming giants with millions of daily users, much like Twitch. In his lawsuit against Blizzard, he said there was a lot of sneaky stuff going on in the World of Warcraft game. A lot of people in the gaming community know about his history of complaining and trying to bring down a lot of well-known companies.
He Wants Certain Streamers Banned From The Platform Forever
Estavillo would appreciate if the streaming platform had a gender filter so he would not have to watch women. Meanwhile, he follows 786 women on the platform and zero men which he blames on not being able to get a handle on his sex addiction. While nudity is not allowed on Twitch, women are allowed to wear tops that show off their cleavage. In the 56 page lawsuit, Estavillo included images of women that he found to be provocative or wearing inappropriate clothing while streaming. He wants some famous streamers like Amouranth, Quqco and ST Peach to be banned forever because he cannot control his addiction if he continues to see them.
Estavillo is seeking $25 million in damages and the immediate removal of all of the streamers named in the lawsuit, and it sure is a lot of people.
