Who is The Voice frontrunner, Todd Tilghman? As we move closer to the Season 18 live shows, let’s take a closer look at this four-chair turn on Team Blake, who might just win the whole show.

Todd has been on Team Blake since his blind audition to “We’ve Got Tonight” by Bob Seger. The 42-year-old turned all four coaches’ chairs, and his audition has over 2 million views on YouTube.

5 Facts About ‘The Voice’ Star Todd Tilghman

Todd’s A Pastor At His Childhood Church

Todd grew up in Meridian, Mississippi, and still lives there with his family. He’s the lead pastor at the church he attended as a kid. He’s been singing from a young age as well. Check out the above video Todd posted on Instagram. It’s an old clip from when he was 12 or 13 in the early ’90s, singing in front of what looks to be a church congregation.

He Married His High School Sweetheart

How many longterm couples can say they’ve been together since they were teenagers? Todd and his wife Brooke have been married for 21 years. Brooke cheered him on from backstage during his blind audition on The Voice.

“What an adventure we’ve had together,” Todd wrote to his wife in a birthday tribute on Instagram earlier this year, thanking Brooke for believing in him. “You are the one and only great love of my life.”

Todd And His Wife Have 8 Children

Todd joked on the show that his wife wanted to have three children, and he wanted two, so “we compromised on eight.” After having their first three biological kids, Todd and Brooke chose to adopt two girls from Korea. After that, they had three more kids!

Todd frequently shares photos of his family on social media. The family also has a YouTube channel called Too Many Tilghmans, where they’ve posted several vlogs about their life in Mississippi.

His Son Has Also Appeared On TV

Todd’s son Eagan appeared on the NBC reality competition show Making It last year. Eagan’s crafting hobby helped him after he was bullied. He makes costumes for his siblings, and went viral for dressing his brother up as Pennywise from It. Check out the above video to see Eagan demonstrating how to make a snow globe for the holiday season.

“The way he has risen above it, the way he chose to use it as fuel to propel him toward success, that’s something we’re overwhelmingly proud of,” Todd told local news about how Eagan handled being bullied in high school.

Todd Is Friends With James Taylor?!

Legendary singer-songwriter James Taylor appeared on The Voice this season as a Mega Mentor for the contestants during the Knockouts. Todd apparently bonded with James enough to schedule a hangout session with him.

Todd recently tweeted that the coronavirus pandemic forced him to postpone brunch with James Taylor. He added that they’re “buds now.” Even if he doesn’t win the show, that’s a pretty amazing consolation prize.
