This Shocking ‘BGT’ Audition Teaches Simon Cowell Never Judge A Book By Its Cover
Simon Cowell is always upfront and honest when he does not like a contestant on Britain’s Got Talent. There have been times where he judged the contestants just based on the way that they introduced themselves. But this season, Simon may have judged Dev way too early before he delivered a stunning performance of a power ballad by the band Queen. This is an act that you definitely have to see to believe. Check out this shocking performance down below that had everyone talking.
Simon Cowell Questioned ‘Britain’s Got Talent’ Performer Dressed Like The Devil
The scary sounds of evil laughter fell over the stage as a man who was literally dressed as the devil made his way in front of the judges. Their faces were met with confusion and shock as they took in his ensemble and face paint. He introduced himself as Dev, a play on the word “devil.” When asked where he is from, he hilariously said “the pits of hell.” Talk about staying in character! “I want to be a little more positive and hopeful for a better future. I’m hoping to spread some love and sing a song” he said on why he decided to audition. Simon asked him how many demons he had which led Dev to reply “countless.”
“Would you phone one of the demons first if you got through?” Simon asked. He clearly just thought this was a comedic ploy for Dev to get on television. “Maybe a group chat,” he said as the audience was sent into a pool of laughter. Dev went on with his performance singing “I Want To Break Free” by Queen. Simon literally could not pick his jaw up off the floor the entire time. He was completely shocked at Dev’s powerful voice along with the rest of the panel and the audience. Ant and Dec hilariously wore devils ears as they sang along backstage to one of the most shocking performances of all time. The audience gave him a standing ovation.
The ‘BGT’ Judges Were Blown Away By Dev’s Performance
Everybody was in awe that Dev turned out to be a rather good singer. “Well you’re certainly the best singing devil we’ve had on today,” said judge David Walliams. “I had no idea the devil was so talented,” said Amanda Holden. Alesha Dixon went on to compliment Dev’s vocals and his voice. And for Simon, he was completely awestruck. “I don’t know whether this is flattering or not but you as the devil had every show in the world to audition on and you chose Britain’s Got Talent” he said. “I somehow feel that’s a compliment.” Simon went on to say “This is the performance I’m going to remember most.”
Dev went on to get four yes’s from the judges sending him into the next round. We’ve definitely seen our fair share of weird acts on Britain’s Got Talent, but do you think this was the most shocking one yet? Dev went soaring into the next round and we hope during the next performance he gives them….hell.
