‘AGT’ Star Sheldon Riley Auditions For ‘The Voice Australia’
On America’s Got Talent, Sheldon wore beaded masks to cover his face, but not when he first auditioned for The Voice. Sheldon sang “Do You Really Want to Hurt Me” by Boy George’s Culture Club for his first blind audition.
Boy George just so happened to be one of the coaches on the show, and he turned his chair for Sheldon. So did the other three coaches. Every time a chair turned, Sheldon became emotional but continued to perform.

“You are incredible,” coach Joe Jonas told Sheldon. Boy George said he loved the “sadness” Sheldon added to the song, calling him a “natural performer” and complimenting his outfit. Kelly Rowland called it “one to watch.”
Sheldon chose to join Boy George’s team, saying the singer inspired him. “You let people like me wear what I want to wear,” he said, tearing up. Sheldon ended up finishing The Voice Australia in third place.
Sheldon Competed On ‘The Voice Australia’ All-Stars
In 2019, Sheldon Riley returned to The Voice Australia stage as an all-star. The season also featured contestants who had previously appeared on The X Factor Australia and Australia’s Got Talent.

Two of the coaches’ teams were full when Sheldon auditioned for the season, including his former coach Boy George, who recognized his voice immediately. Sheldon sang “Frozen” by Madonna, inspiring Delta Goodrem and Guy Sebastian to turn around.
Sheldon removed his mask when the performance was over. He ended up joining Delta’s team, and he made it to The Voice Australia semifinals. This year, he auditioned for AGT, and made it to the quarterfinals. He recently released a new song called “More Than I.”
