One of the great things about shows like America’s Got Talent and The World’s Best is that they introduce American audiences to talent from other countries. That includes Kazakhstan, which has produced some amazing stars in recent years.
In particular, two singers and a UFC fighter have been making a name for themselves in the states. Read on to find out more about these amazing talents, one of whom might be crowned an AGT winner this season.
Kazakhstan Talent Dimash Appears On ‘The World’s Best’
In 2019, Dimash Kudaibergen took America by storm when he appeared on CBS competition show The World’s Best. Although Dimash is originally from Kazakhstan, he’s gained popularity around the world, particularly in China, where he was runner-up on the show Singer.
Dimash’s amazing range has earned him the nickname “The Six-Octave Man.” Although he did well on The World’s Best, Dimash ended up quitting the competition, saying he didn’t want to compete against children. Earlier this year, he started his Arnau tour of Europe, which was cut short due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Daneliya Tuleshova Sings Her Heart Out On ‘AGT’
This 13-year-old singer also appeared on The World’s Best last year, making it to the Top 8. Daneliya was born in Kazakhstan, and after suffering a gymnastics injury at age 4, she focused on pursuing music. In 2017, she won The Voice Kids in Ukraine.
Daneliya is now competing on Season 15 of America’s Got Talent. She wowed the judges with her performance of “Tears of Gold” by Faouzia in her audition. Howie Mandel called her a “beautiful butterfly,” and Simon Cowell said she was “very cool.” Daneliya recently advanced to the live shows without even having to perform in the Judge Cuts.
Meet UFC Fighter Mariya Agapova
This 23-year-old mixed martial artist spent her early career fighting in Russia, China, and her home country of Kazakhstan. In February of this year, Mariya signed with the UFC. She made her debut against Hannah Cifers in June. Her victory came with a $50,000 “Performance of the Night” bonus.
Her manager Alex Davis called it “life-changing.” Mariya will go up against Shana Dobson on August 22. She’s also been gaining a social media following, with over 34,000 followers on Instagram as of this writing.
