Who’s the youngest contestant to appear on Britain’s Got Talent? According to the BGT wiki, the answer is technically 4-year-old Michael Jackson impersonator Kayim Ali-Jaffer. However, since his audition never aired, fellow 4-year-old Shakira Riddell-Morales takes the top spot.
Shakira performed the Colombian salsa in her audition for Season 1 of the show in 2007. The judges loved it, and voted to send her through to the next round. She didn’t make it to the semifinals, but she’s still performing as a teenager.
Shakira Riddell-Morales Is The Youngest Contestant On ‘Britain’s Got Talent’
Shakira stepped onto the Britain’s Got Talent stage wearing a huge skirt. She showed off a few moves using the skirt, then removed it to reveal a shorter, fringed dress. Shakira shimmied around the stage, earning applause from the audience.
Judge Amanda Holden said she was “fantastic.” Piers Morgan said she had “the prettiest dress,” and added, “You’re the prettiest girl we’ve seen so far, and you’re the best 4-year-old salsa dancer I’ve ever seen in my life.”
Shakira earned three “yes” votes to move on to the next round. Although she didn’t make it further in the competition, she hasn’t stopped performing in the years since. In fact, she has a pretty impressive resumé for a 17-year-old.
