‘The X Factor UK’ Discos Into The Semi-Finals With ABBA Week
We’re getting close to the end this season on The X Factor UK. It’s the semi-finals and what better way to pick the finalists than to make them sing ABBA songs? At least that was how this episode was advertised. The ABBA songs came at the end. Lame. Any way, it was still a great show. Let’s see what happened.
Brendan sang Run by Snow Patrol which is a really great song for him. He did his usual serviceable job. Will it be enough to save him? I feel like Brendan has gone further than I thought he was going to. It’s not that he’s not good, he is, but he’s not an X Factor champ. Not in my opinion.
Oh, Danny. He continues his campaign to be Britain’s favorite lounge singer. He does a great rendition of This Is My Life by Shirley Bassey. He’s awesome, don’t get me wrong. But even if he makes it to the next phase…he isn’t winning.
Unless something goes drastically wrong for Dalton, he’s going to win. Or at least he’ll be one of the final two. At this point he seems unstoppable. Just watch it.
Acacia And Aaliyah
Look, I’m going to be honest. They’ve been in the bottom for several weeks. It’s beyond time for them to go. I feel like they need to go home.
The comeback kid is back with more awesome. He sings the Bon Jovi classic Livin On A Prayer and he annihilates it. Whether or not he’ll win, I don’t know. But I see Anthony doing great things. He’s not the best singer in the world but he’s so charismatic.
Scarlett is Dalton’s biggest competition. She sings This Is Me from The Greatest Showman, which I’m a little sick of hearing, but still. She does a fantastic job and I definitely see a showdown between her and Dalton.
Acacia and Aaliyah are safe by some kind of strange mysterious force. Danny and Brendan went home and, again, I’m not surprised. The next night there was a further showdown and Acacia and Aaliyah and Scarlett square off. FINALLY, A&A are gone and your finalists are Dalton, Scarlett, and Anthony.
