Tokio Myers, a fusion pianist from London has won Britain’s Got Talent 2017, defeating child magician Issy Simpson who came in second place.

The win was determined by public vote, after a close live finale with Issy Simpson and Daliso Chaponda.

Myers performed another one of his now famous mash-ups, in which he blends classical piano music with pop and other genres effortlessly.

When Tokio’s name was announced by Ant and Dec he was visibly shocked and dropped to the floor.

The crowd, as well as the judges on the panel, were excited for him. Simon Cowell commented that he was “thrilled” for the musician and Alesha Dixon saying: “He performs with his heart, he’s such a humble person. Super talented”.

This win means that he will now receive a prize of £250,000 and he will go on to perform in front of the Queen at the Royal Variety Performance.

The 8-year-old magician Issy Simpson who, just a couple of days earlier at the semi-finals, seemed very overwhelmed by the experience, was very mature and gracious in defeat, saying how much she had enjoyed her experience on the show.

Here are the judges debriefing and discussing the show outcome:
